Sven-Goran Eriksson’s family has announced that the former England manager has died at 76.

The family released a statement on Monday morning confirming the tragic news.

It read: “Sven-Goran Eriksson has passed away.

“After a long illness, SGE died during the morning at home surrounded by family.”

Eriksson had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and admitted he only had a year to live “at best”.

During his career, Eriksson managed top European clubs like Benfica, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Lazio.
