Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has said “he won’t tell anyone” before retiring from international duty.

The 39-year-old made this remark ahead of head coach Roberto Martinez naming his squad for the upcoming Nations League matches.

Ronaldo has now said he still continue playing for his country but when he does retire, the build-up to it will be kept under wraps.

He told Portuguese channel NOW: “When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one.

“Right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play.
